Ayabie was a Japanese pop-rock band. They were signed to indies label SPEED DISK (2004-2009) and major label Tokuma Japan Communications (2009-2010). Ayabie was a visual-kei and oshare-kei band, but after their major debut the band dropped the visual-look for a mainstream one. Their musical style consisted of a wide variety of sounds and moods; ranging from ballads to the catchy and upbeat, and to the heavy and hard-edged punk rock songs.

On August 7th, 2010 it was announced that Yumehito, Takehito, Intetsu, and Kenzo had all left Ayabie making Aoi the only member. The four recent former members have created their own band, AYABIE, which they revealed on September 17th. Their first live as a new band was a one-man concert titled Aki no Kanshasai '10 on October 22nd at Shibuya O-EAST. Aoi had then announced on November 4th that from December of 2010 on, Ayabie would be in an indefinite hiatus, even though the name was still featured on the collaborative releases by Aoi and Ryohei.

Even though they're technically still on hiatus, Aoi joined Yumehito, Takehito, Intetsu and KENZO and together they will perform as Ayabie (彩冷える) at AREA 15th anniversary live at Zepp Tokyo on 29th June 2012.
